#01 Assault and Battery

An assault is a crime that involves doing an act against another person with the intent to cause fear of immediate bodily harm or death. The bodily harm can include physical pain, illness, injury or any physical impairment caused by the harm. The word battery may refer to the actual impact of the unlawful act upon another person. There may be degrees of severity in the charges based upon the egregiousness of the alleged act. A threat of bodily harm and harm to property can also give to serious consequences to the offender.

#02 Crimes against administration of justice

Crimes against administration of justice can include escaping from the custody or charge for the conviction of a crime, fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, tampering with a witness, obstructing legal process or arrest. An offender once convicted can find himself in jail.

#02 Disorderly conduct

A disorderly conduct charge involves accusations that a person in a public or private place knowing or having reasonable grounds to know that it will alarm anger or disturb others, provokes an assault or breach of the peace. This could include brawling or engaging in fighting, unlawfully disturbing an assembly or meeting, engaging in the use of offensive language and noisy conduct tending reasonably to rouse alarm anger in other people. Disorderly conduct in a police is a serious offence under the Police Act 1967.

#04 Domestic Violence

There can be a broad range of activities that may be included as the basis for an allegation of domestic violence. Domestic violence may involve an allegation that a person has acted in a way that is  angerous to another including hitting, shoving, or other related acts of physical force. A domestic abuse allegation may include allegations that a family member is in fear of imminent physical harm including being victimized by criminal sexual conduct. There are also other forms of domestic violence such as threats and the behavior of psychological abuse and stalking.

#05 False imprisonment

The country’s criminal law makes it a violation for anyone who lacks authority by law to intentionally confine or restrain any person or a child who is not his own and is a minor without the consent of the parents or legal guardian.

#06 Gaming and Lottery

A person can be charged in connection with gaming and illegal lottery activities. This could have serious consequences because in this country persons involved not only would face criminal charges, but, could find themselves sent under a Minister’s order to reside in remote places under the Restricted Residence Act 1933. He may not be allowed to go out of the district or be allowed to go to a certain place when under the restriction order and also must be at home when night falls till dawn. The Restricted Residence Act 1933 is a very harsh law and you can be placed under restricted residences based not on evidence, but, on suspicion or allegations yet without trial! Once the Minister based on suspicion or allegations is satisfied that you are a habitual offender, the Minister can just issue an Order to arrest and detain you before sending you to serve the restriction order for two years or more. Under the restriction order you may be required to report your movement to the police station at periodical intervals, say, once a week or twice a month.     

#07 Juvenile offenses

A juvenile person may be charged with violating the law. There are broad arrays of potential allegations that can be made against a juvenile person based on prevailing law. Juvenile delinquency proceedings have their own approaches and it is important that all of a young person’s rights be protected at all stages of involvement in the legal system. This means that the young person should have the help of legal counsel who understands the juvenile court system. Some situations may involve the potential for reference for prosecution as an adult. In situations where a juvenile is involved, it is important that they get the effective assistance of legal counsel.

#08 Kidnapping

Kidnapping involves the confinement or removal of a person without his or her consent for an invalid purpose. These invalid purposes may include holding a person for ransom or reward for release, to facilitate the commission of a crime, to commit great bodily harm or terrorize a person or to force the person into involuntary servitude.

#09 Property crimes

Property crimes include burglary, arson and destruction of property. This type of case may involve a complicated set of facts and involve the person in related civil litigation.

#10  Perjury

Perjury is a crime against the administration of justice. It involves making a false material statement which the person does not believe to be true under oath or affirmation or in any other situation where the penalties for perjury are imposed by law. The allegation would include that the person knew and appreciated at the moment of giving false testimony that his or her statement was false.

#11 Sex Crimes

The country’s law covers a broad range of activity that may be classified as sex crimes. These violations of law include criminal sexual conduct. There are degrees of sexual conduct charges based on the egregiousness of the alleged act. Other types of sex crimes include sodomy, bestiality, prostitution, and running a disorderly house.

#12 Theft & Robbery

A theft charge includes the allegation that a person intentionally, without a claim of right, took,
concealed, or retained possession of movable property that is not his or her own with intent to deprive the owner. This type of charge can involve a great many unlawful types of activity and is charged in degrees of severity of the act, which may include consideration of the value of the property allegedly
involved in the charge. When physical force or threat is used, robbery charge will be framed against the offender and once convicted can carry whipping and long imprisonment.

#13 White-collar crime

White-collar crimes include a broad spectrum of illegal activity including fraud, forgery, embezzlement, false claims and computer crimes. These cases may involve complicated facts and have related civil litigation. This means that someone who is charged with a white collar crime may have multiple legal challenges such as being involved in a civil lawsuit and being charged with a crime.
